“My vision was to cut out the unnecessary luxuries that distract from the purity of the wilderness experience and reinstate the safari experience I discovered 35 years ago when I first arrived at Chibembe”
Simon Bicknell – Director
Each Chibembe bush camp sleeps upto eight guests with double and twin sleeping arrangements in four canvas tents with en suite bush showers and flush loos. The ‘boma’ tent overlooks the Luangwa River providing a refuge from the sun on hot days and a hub for meals and conversation.
Whilst the bush camps are not luxurious, they have all the facilities of a luxury safari camp. The lighting is solar powered, the showers deliver hot water, the loos flush – the simplicity of the experience delivers a safari experience close to nature. The only sounds are the calls of the wildlife and grunts of resident hippos.
The charming, simple and traditional tented safari camp is the gateway to one of the finest walking safari areas in the South Luangwa National Park with its diverse woodland and grassland ecology.
